Water climbing wall

One of the most exciting attractions at Maaraue outdoor pool is the water climbing wall, which is now open to eager climbers after being granted health and safety clearance by an independent auditing body (TÜV). The climbing wall, made by the renowned manufacturer “Waterclimbing”, can be found at the edge of the diving bay. It’s four metres high, three metres wide and weighs a few hundred kilos.

The climbing wall’s foundations are anchored 3.50 metres under the ground. The surface is made of polycarbonate and features grips that are specially designed for wet skin, allowing you to easily hang on as you climb to the top. There’s no rope on the climbing wall: Once you’ve reached the top, you can jump back into the water; if you don’t make it, you can just drop back into the water on your way up.

Sunbathing lawns and sports activities

Furthermore, the Maaraue open-air swimming pool with a sunbathing area of around 50,000 m² also offers an attractive play area for families. There is a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, a soccer field, a boccia court, two table tennis tables, two chess tables and a covered badminton court and three table tennis tables. The swimming pool restaurant caters for the physical well-being of bathers.

Disabled facilities

With facilities for the disabled, barrier-free access to the outdoor pool Maaraue, handicapped accessible changing rooms and toilets as well as six handicapped parking spaces, the outdoor pool Maaraue is handicapped accessible. Attention. There is no handicapped lift that allows access to the pool.
