Dog swimming at the Kallebad

For two-legged friends, the swimming season at Kallebad will soon be coming to an end, but for four-legged friends, the fun is just beginning. The popular dog swimming event will take place once again on Sunday, 15 September 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm at the Kallebad outdoor pool on Wörther-See-Straße. The great demand in recent years shows that dogs also love the element of water.

The non-swimmer pool, which is equipped with wide steps for easy entry and exit, will be open exclusively for dogs on this day. Dogs can splash around here or let off steam on the sunbathing lawn.

‘We make sure that the water is no longer chlorinated on this day so that the dogs can swim without worrying,’ explains Operations Manager Thomas Baum. ‘In spring, the filters, pumps and pools are thoroughly cleaned and filled with fresh water so that everything is ready for the upcoming 2024 bathing season. In this way, we ensure that there are no hygiene concerns for either the dogs or the bathers.’

Dog owners must present a vaccination certificate with a valid rabies vaccination, dog liability insurance and a dog licence at the entrance. ‘These requirements must be met for the dogs to be allowed to swim,’ emphasises Baum. ‘We also recommend that dogs wear a harness in case their owners need to help them out of the water.’

We would like to emphasise once again that owners are responsible for their dogs and for cleaning up after them. A sufficient number of poo bags are available at the ticket office.

The entrance fee is 0.50 euros per foot and paw. Tickets can be purchased in the webshop at www.mattiaquacard.de or directly at the pool ticket office. The entrance fees will be donated in full to an animal welfare organisation.
